Crazed I started out as a PML Amram 4 kit, that I got for my 13th birthday. It flew more or less 'stock' for the first few launches, but it wasn't long before I decided to add in dual deployment. But I also wanted to make sure that I would be able to fly hybrid motors, so instead of shortening the lower section of the rocket, I added an extra 18" section of tube, leaving a full 36" for the motor mount.
It would fly just over a mile on a J540R as drawn.
Unfortunately, on its first hybrid flight, the igniter grain fell out of the top of the motor and clogged the nozzle, which lead a rather dramatic demise...

Fortunately, the top half of the rocket survived, and eventually became Crazed II
